LUCKNOW: Lucknow University has extended the online choice filling process till July 3. The process was scheduled to end on July 2. The move came after the off campus online counselling for admission to undergraduate courses began seven hours late on Sunday.

“There were some teething problems in the off campus online counselling. We regret the inconvenience caused to the students. For smooth functioning, we have extended the choice locking process by a day,” said admission coordinator Naveen Khare.

With modifications in the counselling schedule, the first allotment result declaration will now be done on July 6 instead of July 5. The fee submission for first allotment, which was scheduled from July 6-8, has now been shifted to July 7-9. The second allotment result declaration, schedule on July 12, remains unchanged, and fee submission for second allotment will also be done as per the earlier schedule, i.e, from July 13-15.

To avoid inconvenience, LU will open a “helpdesk” for the candidates who face difficulty in filling up the choices online. The helpdesk will be functional on July 2 and 3 from 10.30am till 5pm at the university’s Tagore library. “Candidates with difficulty in online choice filling can approach the helpdesk. University officials will assist them in correct process of filling the choice,” said Khare.

At present, there are four functional help lines to assist candidates. Two more numbers are being added to the list. The existing helpline numbers are 8765925566, 8765925577, 8765925588 and 8765925599. The new helpline numbers are 8765925544 and 8004129988.

Meanwhile, the university has collaborated with SAHAJ, a non-profit organisation that works for welfare of the people. Candidates who are unable to fill up their choices for UG admissions and those who want to fill up application form for admissions to PG courses can visit these centres. There are 4,649 SAHAJ centres across the state where this service would be available. There are 93 such centres in Lucknow. Students can check the list of these centres on LU website: www.lkouniv.ac.in.
